Paused and inactive cards can not be used for one off transactions but can be charges for subscriptions or pre-authorized transactions and they can be reactivated at any time. Closed cards cannot be charged, or reactivated to your account.

Here is your guide to the 4 card statuses:

Active cards are available and ready to be used, as long as the Slash account has sufficient funds. They count toward your plans card limit and can be moved to paused, inactive or closed.

Paused cards are paused and cannot be used for one-off transactions, but subscriptions and pre-authorized transactions can still go through. You can pause a card in the dashboard, as well as set to active, closed and deactivated. Paused cards count toward your subscription's card limit.

Inactive cards cannot be used for any transaction or subscription. Our support team can assist you to set a card to inactive, and can also assist you in activating an inactive card. Inactive cards do not count toward your subscriptions card limit.

Closed cards cannot be used for any transaction or subscription. Our support team can assist you to close a card, once a card is closed it cannot be brought back to active. Closed cards do not count toward your subscriptions card limit.
